My Story
Béné received her Bachelor of Art and Master of Art in Communication Disorders from Ball State University. She has worked in various settings, including public schools, hospitals, and private clinics, with both adults and children. Her areas of interest include articulation and phonological disorders, language disorders, feeding issues, and autism. Béné has completed advanced continuing education courses to enhance her skills, particularly in treating the 0-3 population, the children population, autism and more. Béné speaks fluent French. When she is not hanging out with her husband, their four kids, dogs and bird, and traveling in or out of the country, she enjoys tennis and volleyball with her friends, as well as walking or Pilates.

1. What is your favorite part about your career?
Getting to develop a relationship with our peds population, problem solving using science (loved Modified barium swallows, NICU, ...) making a difference
2. What motivates you to work hard?
Trust from my team, successful results, validation through words of affirmation
3. What is your biggest complaint about your profession?
PAPERWORK! Lack of teamwork in some settings
4. Name a 5-year goal (doesn’t have to be work-related)
*Develop an expertise (another language? A PhD? bilingual French therapy? Return to medical field?)
5. List 2 pet peeves.
* Read a translated French or English book instead of the original version
* Dinner has to be with everyone at the table and no screens…ever.
6. What are your hobbies?
Reading/traveling/outdoor activities with my family (snorkeling (not done in years though!), skiing…) Ikea, trying to be the cool mom (and failing!) taking my kids to France and immersing them in my culture to watch them grow the way I did!
7. Do you play sports? If so, what?
No really
Played European handball forever; pretend to play volleyball (loved sand)
8. What Do you collect?
* Debts? lots of memories from our travels and adventures
9. What is your favorite Starbucks drink?
*Strawberry Acai maybe.

International Foods (French/Thai/Indian…)
11. What is your favorite book and/or movie?
Books: Loved Divergent and Hunger Game
series/Movies: Marvels Of course love French books and movies
